We are thrilled to share a major milestone for the Chevron Pilbara Ear Health Program this month. We are deeply honoured to have been awarded the ENGAGE Pilbara Community Services Excellence Award. This recognition is a testament to the program’s collaborative, community-led, and place-based approach in addressing the critical ear health challenges faced across Australia, particularly in remote and Indigenous communities.

Since 2011, the Chevron Pilbara Ear Health Program has provided screening and intervention services to over 15,000 children, and this new addition will further expand our reach. The program collaborates with communities, elders, families, and services to offer holistic, impactful care, reducing wait times for Audiology, ENT, and surgery.

The award celebrates not only our commitment to impactful and culturally safe care but also the support we’ve received from Elders, families, communities, and partner organisations since the program’s inception. Ear health requires a dedicated team, but more than that, it takes a community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed to and shaped this program over the years.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support and funding from Chevron Australia. We also extend our thanks to Pilbara for Purpose Inc, Rural Health West, and all the organisations that have collaborated with us along the way.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with communities and other organisations to bring about support and impactful services and make a long-lasting change in ear health across West Pilbara.
