Telethon Speech & Hearing offers a fee-based Occupational Therapy Clinic providing comprehensive assessments and individualised intervention sessions for TSH families but also to the wider community.

Our dynamic and experienced team of Occupational Therapists are passionate about working with all children, from birth through to adolescence.

We are dedicated to assisting children overcome challenges in their daily life by using their strengths, maximising developmental opportunities and making learning functional and fun.

What we offer:

We provide comprehensive assessment of your child’s functional skills and develop a tailored intervention program for your child.

Services include individual therapy sessions; joint speech pathology/occupational therapy (SPOT) sessions (where required); small group sessions and school holiday programs.

Parent/Caregiver workshops addressing various topics can also be provided, as required. Children will also have access to our state of the art sensorimotor gymnasium and our multi-sensory room, as appropriate.

We can provide help with:

  • Early movement skills and motor milestones
  • Feeding and oral-motor skills
  • Engagement and play skills
  • Toileting and hygiene
  • School readiness
  • Fine motor skills such as drawing, handwriting and cutting
  • Gross motor skills such as coordination and balance
  • Sensory and perceptual skills
  • Concentration, planning and organisational skills

Eligibility:

Parents/caregivers from the community can self-refer to the clinic for OT services without a referral. However, some children will be eligible for a Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan or an Enhanced Primary Care Plan, initiated by your GP. This plan provides 5 Allied Health occasions of service in a calendar year for which you will receive a Medicare Rebate.

You may also be able to claim from your private health insurance provider; you will need to contact your provider to find out what you are covered for.

We are also approved providers for My Way and NDIS funding and also Better Start for Children with Disabilities.

Our fees structure is available upon request.

Payment and cancellation policy:

Fees for occupational therapy services are payable on the day of consultation. EFTPOS facilities are available. Assessment reports are issued upon full payment of assessment fee costs. 24 hours notice is required for cancellation of appointments otherwise the full consultation fee will be charged.
